Ted Nugent
I have been a Ted Nugent fan since the mid-sevenites. I loved his Great White Buffalo, Hibernation, and his brand of hot, hard charging guitar. I'll admit, I thought some of his stands on hunting were a little out there, and so is he. But, while I may not agree with everything he says, I agree with a lot of it and I really like his attitude. He walks his talk! He is out there doing it, he works hard and he plays hard and he stands on his own two feet like a man.
In an industry where so many of his peers have succumbed to the tempations of drugs and alcohol, he is clean and sober. (I wish I had done as well when I was a younger, more foolish, man. If I had made better choices when I was younger, if I had taken better advantage of the educational and other opportunities available to young people, I am sure that my life would have turned out vastly different. But I am where I am, and I am not giving up! I can't change the past but I will for damn sure work ever harder to make a better future for myself, my family, my nation, and the world we all live in.
I found the Nuge's Ted, White, and Blue, the Nugent Manifesto to be an excellent read. He pulls no punches and he talks no bullshit. I found him inspiring and uplifting. Even if you don't agree with any of his political positions, just living life to the fullest and giving everything you do your all, like he does, will make you a better person. Be the kind of man who can stand on his two feet, and never give in and never surrender. If you want to learn more about the Motor City Madman and how to live the life he lives, read his manifesto. You could do a lot worse.
Ted Nugent has a fan site, TedNugent.com. Check it out if you like his music or his attitude. His site also gives you the chance to go hunting with him if you are interested.
